CHAPTER 1 - MEETING THE BOSS

A few months ago I was laid off from my job in Finance due to the slow economy. After unsuccessful attempts at landing another job, I sent my resume to a recruiting agency. Almost immediately I was called in for an interview. Fortunately for me the agency agreed to represent me. Sherry was my recruiter's name and she became close as a friend to me over the weeks as she worked diligently to find me a job. A few weeks went by and I was having no luck. With the slow economy there were not many jobs available in my field. My bills were stacking up and I was beginning to get desperate. One day I found myself in Sherry's office pleading for her help.

As I pleaded to Sherry, I could see her contemplating something. We sat in silence for a few minutes and then Sherry quietly stood up from behind her desk, walked over to the door and shut it. Returning to her seat she broke the silence. "I know of a job which you would be perfect for. It is for a small company that sells adult toys." She paused for a few seconds observing my reaction. I just kept a straight face and looked back with interest. Sherry continued, "Due to the sensitive nature of the products my agency will not represent this company. However, I am good friends with owner and would be willing to arrange for a temporary position for you at the company while you continue your job search with me. Are you interested in this opportunity?" ...
