I had fantasised about my Mother in Law, Karen, for sometime but never thought anything would happen. Ben, her husband, had died two years ago, and ever since than, Karen had cut herself off from most social activities. She had come to stay with Sharon, my wife of four years, and myself on numerous occasions, especially long weekends. It was during one of these weekends that things started to change whilst enjoying a take-away.

'Mum, why don't you take a break? You know, get away for a bit,' Sharon asked.

'Oh, I don't think so. It's not me' she replied, looking a little uncomfortable.

'You should think about it, a change of scenery and people, let your hair down and enjoy yourself, you know you deserve it,' Sharon continued, as she started to tidy up the take-away boxes.

'I would not know what to do, I would be bored silly, the only way you would get me on holiday would be to drag me screaming and shouting to the plane,' Karen said, but this time it looked like she was giving a serious thought to the idea behind those brown eyes.

'So why don't all three of us go on a break together?' I added.
