David's Story

David was 34 years old. He was a marketing professional, born and raised in Chicago. He had joined the firm the day he graduated with a Master of Science in Marketing Communications from Loyola University. He had married Jennie, the love of his life while he was still in graduate school. Two years later, their son Christopher was born. Life was wonderful...until the day Jennie was killed by a drunk driver. She was on her way to daycare to pick up Christopher and a car crossed the median and hit her head on. David's world came crashing down!

His son and his work became his escape from the hurt he felt. He poured his heart and his soul into his work and into his relationship with his son Christopher. Christopher was now ten years old. He and David had a marvelous relationship.

The hurt David had felt with the loss of Jennie had finally begun to occupy less and less of his consciousness. Beginning some two years ago, David dated occasionally. He hadn't had any serious relationships. He had attended single parenting groups. The primary thing he gained from the single parenting group was that Christopher would most likely view any female relationship that David may have had as a threat to Christopher's relationship with his father. That knowledge kept David from seeking a serious relationship, but it did nothing for the loneliness that he felt for the kind of companionship ...
