John was an outdoor type of guy whereas I was definitely a city girl. He thought it would be a great idea for us to hike up this mountain, well, a large hill, and have a picnic at top. I wasn't so keen on his idea but since he usually does what I want to do, I gave him to him.

He decided to go on a Sunday morning so we could have a nice luncheon. Also, he said there would be less people out so we could experience the wilderness more. Again, I didn't like the sound of this.

Of course the day he picked was one of the hottest days of the year. I decided to wear some of my short cut offs, a black thong, and just a sports bra. At least I could work on my tan!

We arrived at the trail after about an hour drive. It was a beautiful drive. "John," I asked, "about how long does it take to get to the top of this mountain?"

"Julia, it's just a hill but it will take about an hour to walk up it."

Soon after we arrived, we started up the trail. There was a lot more trees than I expected and the trail followed a small stream. After about 20 minutes, John stopped and retrieved a bottle of water from his pack. We sat down on a log just slightly off the trail to take a break. It was hot but it was going to get hotter.
