The tangy smell of the ocean assaulted her nose before her eyes opened. Sitting up, careful not to bang her head on the bunk above, Ainsley brushed her hands over her face to wipe the sleep away. The gentle swaying of the boat didn't affect her. The temperament of the ocean was ingrained in her very being. She grew up on the ocean, and had never been too far away from it her whole life, well mostly. The three years she was away tore at her heart, what she gave up for him all came crashing back. Ainsley climbed the steps to the deck, wrapping her arms around herself and tilting her face to the warming sunshine. She was back in Nantucket to reclaim her roots, to try to get back to her safe place. To mend her broken heart.
