That night Kailyn fell asleep in Jesse's arms. With her head resting against his chest, the soft beating of his heart lulled her into a sense of complete security. A feeling that she had not felt in such a long time. Each breath he drew his lungs were filled with the lingering scent of her shampoo. He soon fell into a deep sleep, filled of dreams of the future.

Morning came all too quickly for the lovers. Jesse awoke and Kailyn was gone. For a moment, he thought it was all a dream. He slipped out of his bed and caught a glimpse of himself in the dresser mirror. He studied the dark shiner he had for a moment and smiled slightly. It could not have been a dream. As he walked down the hall, he heard the sound of the shower running. He smiled as he stopped outside the bathroom door.

He could hear her voice as she sang softly in the shower. Jesse quietly opened the door and slipped inside. He could see her silhouette through the shower door. He stared for a moment before he moved closer. He opened the door to the shower without her noticing.

Not wanting to frighten her, he softly whispered "Good morning Kailyn".

His arms encircled her wet body as he hugged her. His chin rested against her shoulder. She smiled as she turned her head slightly to look at him. He loosened his grip enough so that she could turn to face ...
