Steve's story:- I Never Knew.....

I woke up on Sunday morning to the birds singing and the sun had just broken the horizon. Lying next to me was a man, Brad, who I had allowed me to experience something wonderful for the first time last night. As I lay awake in bed I thought to myself how did this happen, was I gay? I began to think about my life and the events that led up to last night.

I was only about 7 when my parents split up; Dad was always working up north, so I think they just drifted apart. 6 months after my parents split up my sister Jodie who was 14 at the time moved in with my Dad and I stayed with Mum. Jodie and Mum were constantly at loggerheads, I think it was mum who sent her to live with Dad. I seem to remember Jodie always staying out late, and Mum and her would row a lot when she came home. I think the final straw came when Jodie didn't come home one night.

I didn't see much of Jodie or Dad after that, only occasionally on school holidays. Mum couldn't drive so it was a real pain in the ass to keep getting on a train to see them (not that Mum had much time for Jodie). Dad was also working most of the Holidays. I didn't really miss Jodie either, when I was a boy she didn't have much time for me, it was like I was an annoyance to her.
