Karen hurriedly gathered up her things to leave. It had been a long day at work, and she was looking forward to her date tonight. She waved at her co-workers as she headed out the door.

At home, Karen got into the shower, and quickly dried and dressed. Steve was due there any minute! About the time she slipped on her shoes, the phone rang.

"Hello?" she answered.

"Hey, hon. It's Steve. I'm sorry I can't make it tonight. Our second-shifter called in and I have to stay and cover. I'm sorry, babe. We'll do it tomorrow night, ok?"

Karen agreed and hung up the phone. She sighed, disappointed. "Well, hell," she thought, "I'm not just going to sit here all night!" She called Rhonda, and the pair decided to meet up for a movie. Karen quickly changed into a breezy knee-length sundress and sandals, and out the door she went.

The theaters were located in a busy mall. When she arrived, Rhonda was already there waiting. "Girl, we got a problem... the movie's sold out!"

"Damn!" yelled Karen, "This is just not my night!" ...
