Me and Dori had started out getting interested in sex stuff like many adolescent girls. We saw each others bodies the same places most teenage girls do: taking showers in gym class at school, shopping for clothes together and seeing each other in the dressing rooms, putting lotion on each other by the pool, sharing the bathroom when we had sleepovers, things like that. Innocent situations that let us see each other and how we were different. Dori and I had really grown up together since we were little, and now that we were getting older, having passed through the doors of puberty together a couple of years back, we shared many of the same feelings and anxieties about sex.

Neither of us had any sexual experience really, but lots of curiosity, and we didn't have any real interest in boys yet, finding them to be brutes most of the time. The boys did seem to have interest in us on occasion, I guess meaning they noticed our boobs were growing. Seeing all kinds of stuff in movies and on TV, we fantasized together about what love would be like, and sex, giving yourself to another person in a physical way to go with the deep emotional feelings, which we didn't fully understand, of course. It seemed like the guys just wanted to put their hands in private places.

I was spending the night at Dori's house and we were watching a rather risqué' movie, one with lots of kissing. It had left us wondering out loud to each other what a "love" kiss would be like, as opposed to a "family" kiss like you'd get from an aunt when you graduated junior ...
