I listened to the wind blowing outside my bedroom window. It was the only sound in the dark stillness. Nights were the hardest times. During daylight hours, it was easy to convince myself that I don't need anyone, that I'm fine on my own. At night, though, the loneliness would set in and I'd toss and turn, missing her more with every passing moment.
