Carrie had been nervous in dialing Jeff's number. She didn't know just what to do. She wanted to seem calm, but she just wasn't feeling it inside. She felt nervous and her stomach had butterflies.

"You'll never guess what I did today. A friend of mine is flying up there tonight, and I sent something along with her to give to you. Do you think that you could meet her at her hotel so she could give it to you?"

He said it was no problem and proceeded to try and get information out of her regarding what the surprise was. She couldn't help the giggle that escaped her throat. She felt silly, but this was the most alive she had felt in ages. She quickly gave him the name and number of the hotel and quickly mentioned that something would be at the front desk for him. She purposely hung up the phone before he could find out what the name of her "friend" was. She had at least 30 min to prepare.

When Jeff arrived at the hotel he mentioned to the desk clerk his name and inquired about a package or something being left for him. The clerk simply handed over an envelope with his name on the outside. The note inside said, "I may be out for a while - use this key to get into the room. Your surprise is in there for you. You can't miss it."
