In the Morning

I was awoken by a stream of bright sunshine pouring in through the curtains and straight into my eyes. I checked the time and we still had some 3 hours before we needed to check out.

I looked across at Jac, she was still sound asleep with what looked like a coy little smile on her face. I could only imagine what she was dreaming about.

She looked so peaceful, so I didn't try and wake her but just watched her and thought back to some of the special times we had shared together. From our first night together at my sisters, to our wedding, and then the birth of our kids. A lot of these things had defined us as a couple, but none more so than some of the tougher times that we had been through.

After a short while, and a lot of self-control, I got out of bed and grabbed the paper from outside the door. I made a coffee and sat, still naked, in the chair across from the bed and quietly read the paper. Every now and then I'd look across to Jac and just smile.

Jac slept for about another hour while I read the paper and started to pack up from the night before. While I was collecting all the bit and pieces from Jac's basket I picked up the lingerie and thought to myself ...
