Mike and I had only known each other for a few weeks but in that time we had become good friends at work. We had been hired at the same time so it was only natural that we should become friends through work. We hadn't moved the friendship outside of work, probably because I had my set of friends and he had his. Then, during lunch one day, he was talking about his new property that he had bought a month earlier and how he was falling behind his schedule. He was building the place himself; with the help of some friends. His friends had some things come up recently so he was working alone. I heard myself volunteering to help him out if he needed it.

"That would be great Chris. I'll buy the food and beer if you can come by Saturday. I have a trailer that you can stay in this way you don't have to drive all the way home Saturday night and we can finish up Sunday," he said.

"Ok. Sounds like a plan. I wouldn't want to drive 2 hours both days so that will work out."
