Chapter 3 - The School Dance Susan's stockinged feet feel strange against the pedals of her car as she turns into the School car park and stops the engine. She looks at her make-up in the vanity mirror, takes a tiny speck of lip gloss from the corner of her full mouth and. opening her little black bag, takes the gold perfume cylinder and puts a tiny puff into her cleavage. Two passers-by wave and Susan smiles at them but doesn't yet leave the little car. She wants to think about what she is about to enter into, to think about what she is and is not about to do and why.

Nick, it must be admitted, is rather gorgeous in a way that Susan finds particularly attractive; caring, attentive, obviously entranced, he combines a lean body with a fantastic nature and a wildish sense of humour.
