Andi's Weekend

It was a bright sunny morning and the Kennedy Hotel was buzzing with activity as Ben waited at the reception desk There were at least six other people waiting to book in, some of whom he knew, some he hadn't met before. They were all here in the town to attend the conference being held by the company the following day at the Convention Centre down the road. Markham Industries Inc was a company specialising in computer hardware and software and delegates were attending from all the offices throughout the country.

The blonde receptionist at last got round to Ben and she smiled as she looked up his details on the computer.

"You are in room 503 on the fifth floor" she said and handed him a key. "Do you want a hand with your luggage?"

"No thanks" he replied. "I think I can manage."

She smiled again, a plastic smile that she reserved for all her customers and turned away to deal with the next customer.

Ten minutes later Ben was in his room, a nice airy room overlooking the town with a view of the rolling plains and hills in the distance. He was a little weary after his long drive and decided to have a bath ...
