The Doctor's Office

Hap and Natalie had been trying to have a baby since they were married a year and a half ago, but they finally decided they weren't going to succeed without help. When they first met Doctor Burke, the fertility specialist recommended by her gynecologist, Hap hated him on sight. He was tall, handsome, and had the kind of chiseled face and body that Hap thought was reserved only for the very rich, the very famous, or the very people the Greeks used to believe lived high in Mount Olympus. His wife's reaction to the doctor seemed just as strong, but in the opposite direction. Hap noticed how her eyes seemed to sparkle whenever they were in the good doctor's presence, how she could never seem to stop smiling while she talked to him, or how her outfits became increasingly more skimpy and revealing with each new visit to his office. Hap noticed that the doctor seemed to appreciate them, and flirted back she as good as he got. Lord knows he saw plenty of Natalie even without the skimpy outfits, Hap thought, since the doctor often had them strip down into little more than white robes while he ran his tests.

Hap still loved his wife, of course, but a year and a half of trying for a baby and failing miserably took its toll on their sex life. ...
