When Betty and her sugar daddy emerged, with me not far behind, I spotted the slinky son of a bitch, and as the sugar daddy's car was brought around, the slinker hailed a cab. I moved up and muscled into the De Soto with him.

"Let's share, partner," I said, and he looked at me with wide eyes like Wilmer looked at Bogie.

"Hey, wait a minute..." was all he managed before my forty-five in his ribs discouraged further conversation. ...
