Eric Lincourt stood at the foot of the hotel room bed, and stared hungrily at the figure of Shelby Nance spread before him. He was an attractive man in his forties. He was tall, and broad with a rugged-looking face and pale blue eyes. A full head of unruly sandy brown hair camouflaged any strands of "worry" gray he might have had. His dark gray suit was visibly wrinkled, his stiff white shirt had buttons hanging by single threads or missing completely, his tie was askew, and the fly of his suit pants was half way down. He looked nothing like the "high profile" CEO that he was, at that very moment. But, it was a fact that he was the chairman and CEO of one of the most prosperous companies in the city.

Lincourt Industries had been forged out of the city's real estate boom of the 1970s and 80s. Lincourt had helped hordes of people realize their lifelong dream of owning a home that was affordable. That endeared him to one and all, and he quickly gained a reputation for the quality of the homes that he built, his honesty, his fairness, and his own standing as a family man. By the mid-1990s, the company had grown into a diversified multi-million dollar empire, and that had made Eric Lincourt a very rich man.
