Best friends are truly capable of anything. Recently, I had the opportunity to try something that I never thought I would have done in a million years.

Shawn, a friend that my wife introduced me to and one she has known since her childhood, and I had gone for a fishing weekend in northern Ontario. We had three full days away from the grind of our jobs and families to unwind and really enjoy ourselves. We flew into a small resort that catered to hunting and fishing. We were looking forward to some partridge and grouse hunting, some walleye fishing and excellent meals prepared by the camp's extraordinary chef. Of course a chance to have a few drinks relaxing by the fire each night before bed was not far from our minds.

We arrived Thursday afternoon around 14:00 hours and were met by the camp's owner and guide Jim. He was ever the gracious host and had our bags taken into the lodge while we were guided into the dining room with the other guests there for the weekend. We were introduced to several people, most of which we didn't remember the names of, sat back in the heavy recliners with our first drinks of the weekend.
