Eric Saunders had been away from the town of Landers for many years. Since he graduated from Foster Community College, he had a very successful business career. In fact, at the age of 37, he was able to retire from the day to day grind of a real job and devote himself to helping others.

Over the years, Eric had made several large donations to the school. The school administration wanted to name a building after him, but he refused the honor. He just wanted to see his Alma Mater grow and benefit its students. He was not looking for personal glory.

Now, he had offered his services to the school. Eric decided to teach a business course at no charge to the college. He was in town to meet with the President and Dean to finalize his offer.

He entered the office and went to the receptionist's desk. She had stepped away for a minute. As he stood there waiting, Eric noticed the name plate. It read "Emma Parker". "It couldn't be!", he thought.

When Eric was a student, he had dated a girl named Emma Parker. They dated for several months and had fallen in love. He planned on asking her to marry him on her birthday. He never got the chance to ask her.

Tragically, Emma was killed in a car crash. Eric never married. He never found anyone who could replace Emma in his heart. He dated some, even ...
