I'm the owner of a small word processing/typing service. We have many clients and sometimes I need to use temp workers to help complete large contracts. One of my temps had been giving me some grief recently; she was behind with the work, kept making different excuses, etc. Problem was I couldn't really take the work off her because I had enough of my own and my other temps were busy (or on holiday) as well.

Finally, and nearly two weeks overdue I got the work back late on Thursday. Of course, I was pleased to get it back but I still felt something should be said and called Wendy in for a "review" the next day.

I was sat working at the computer when Wendy walked in at the allotted time. She came into the office and stood waiting. I stood up, walked round my desk and her and shut the door, to keep others from hearing what was being said.

As I turned back to face Wendy did the thing I was least expecting. Her arms came up and she hugged me, apologising for the lateness of her work as she did so. This stopped me in my tracks; I didn't know what to do. Suddenly I found myself putting my arms round her and running my fingers up and down her spine as she gripped me tighter.
