Christmas 1982, where did the time go? Kathy wondered to herself as she scampered here and there making sure everything at the Company party was being handled perfectly. It was the biggest job of her year. Every year she exceeded her expectations. This year's theme had been Christmas in Wonderland. All the employees came dressed as their favorite winter people, from Jack Frost to Frosty the Snowman and all the other characters. It was now time to announce the big winner. The person who along with someone of his or her choice won a weeks paid vacation in San Juan.

Kathy Wainright didn't bother listening to the announcement of the winner for the company winter vacation. She knew it wouldn't be her, nothing good ever happened to her. She went to the kitchen to check with the caterers that the cake would be ready in ten minutes for the grand finale of the Christmas Party.

She was looking forward to taking her shoes off and going home in that order when they came looking for her to tell her she was wanted on stage.
