Terry's job was a typical 9 to 5 office assignment, Pete had a new assignment that involved a lot of computer internet time and since company HQ had moved 25 miles to the other end of town, he did a lot of work at home telecommuting. Most of the neighbors were married between 5 and fifteen years and a large percentage were DINKS dual income no kids.

As the summer wore on Pete took regular lunch breaks on the bedroom deck that overlooked the neighborhood and used the interval to do some tai chi that he learned to relax him and clear his head for the afternoon's work. Marie was as close to a "Trophy Wife" of any of the women in the subdivision. Don, her husband, came from a prominent local manufacturing family and would in time rise to a senior level in his Uncle's company. Don did not want Marie to work but he did expect her to work out and keep her body trim and taut. Marie had two wardrobes, a conservative collection suitable for family dinners company picnics and a provocative set for wearing out on the town when Don wanted to show her off.
