"Hey, can we stop there?" I signaled to the Hobby Lobby we were about to pass.

"Why?" Kevin asked.

"I just need to pick up something for school."

"Yeah, sure." Kevin pulled his car into the parking lot. I wanted to drive that night, but Kevin had just gotten his car and insisted on driving.

"Wait here, I'll be right back." I shut the door and ran into the store. I hurried to the paint section; I didn't want to keep Kevin waiting too long. He already had no idea where we were going or what we were doing. The only clues I gave him were to wear clothes that didn't matter if they got ruined and to bring a change of clothes. I grabbed five tubes of paint and hurried to the checkout. For once, there wasn't a line.

When I got back to the car, the first thing Kevin said was, "Will you please tell me what you have planned for us tonight?"

I gave him the same response I had given him every other time he asked: "You'll find out soon enough."
