This story is the continuation of my story "The Trip". To get the full depth of this story "The Trip" should be read first.

A brief synopsis of "The Trip": David and Jessica meet at a technical conference and started a passionate affair. They both work for small companies in the same state. The companies are in different towns about two hours apart. Over the course of the conference David and Jessica learn they are both working on a project to bid for the same contract and the owners of their companies know each other from college. By the end of the conference David and Jessica find themselves sitting next to each other, in an airplane on the way back to David's office for a meeting with both the bosses. This is where "The Merger" begins.

The Merger

Jessica and I were seated next to each other on the flight home. The plane was half empty and no one was close enough to easily over hear Jessica's and my conversation. This allowed me to feel free to discuss the last two days. The reality of going home started to hit me so I said to Jessica: "We need to talk about how we are going to handle things when we get home."

Jessica looked a little concerned so I continued: "I know this might be tough but I can't imagine what we have ending."
