Learning To Drive.

"Do I really have to do this?" Joey Slater asked of his mother. He was coming out of his bedroom after dressing. It was nearly time. "I could just get more lessons from Dad." Joey continued, he'd been getting driving lessons of his father for a month now. Lately though, things had been getting rather stressed and every lesson was ending prematurely with Joey's father - Harry - ordering Joey to stop driving so they could switch places, allowing Harry Slater to drive angrily back home. Joey was just not very good at taking orders from his father. It wasn't entirely Joey's fault though, Harry Slater wasn't known for his even temper.

"Yes you have to Joe," Joey's mother said patiently. Mary Slater had had enough of listening to her 'boys' come back from one of their disastrous lessons screaming at each other and then telling her both sides of the same old story; Harry said one thing, Joey did another and so began the fighting. It was the same every time, driving lesson or no. "To be honest, I'm tired of listening to you and your father argue all the time. I'm tired of being told about the arguments. Your father's tired of it too."

"Yeah well, he starts the fights Ma, you know how he is." Joey replied softly.
