The Awakening, Part Three

The sunlight shining through the open vent over the bed moved slowly back and forth a few inches on the bedsheet as the boat gently rocked. Dave opened his eyes and let them adjust to the bright light. A gentle breeze wafted through the vent brining with it the fresh salt air. Dave rolled to his right and found the bed empty. He rose and moved to the galley to find a fresh pot of coffee waiting for him. He poured a cup then climbed through the hatchway into the full sunlight. He stood momentarily looking out over the stern.

"Good morning", he heard behind him.
