This story is an actual occurrence of mine many years ago. It is my first attempt here, so I hope you'll take time to rate it and/or comment as I'll be anxious to get your feedback.

It started like many other Friday evenings. I headed over to the Crossroads, a local bar and dancehall to hear one of my favorite local bands. As I walked through the door, I caught the eye of my high school buddy, Gil, tending bar. At almost the same moment, I noticed two unfamiliar, but gorgeous ladies sitting at the bar. They said something to Gil as I paid the cover charge and then smiled at me. Hoping that was a good sign, I headed that direction as Gil slid a bottle of the local brew down the bar towards me.

I stopped, threw down a few bucks and made some small talk with Gil while I sipped on my beer. "What's up with the ladies?" I asked. He said "You came through the door and they turned to me and said ‘WHO is that?' I told them your name and that you were an old... and very close friend", he said with a wink. I asked him which one he wanted and he just smiled and went back to his business.

So armed with nothing more than that, I decided it was time to introduce myself, even though the ladies already knew my name. "Hello, Jerry. Have a seat", the blonde said as I walked up.
