HER TIME ALONE (True Story)

It was during the winter, and the outside air was frigid. I was preparing to leave on a work assignment that would take me away from home for at least four days. I wasn't excited to have to go on the trip, but the money would be good. I packed up my things and loaded my vehicle as I would be leaving the next morning around 5:00 a.m. I went to bed around 11 p.m., and found myself fighting for sleep. I must have tossed and turned throughout the night, as I was dead tired when the alarm went off.

I kissed her good bye that morning and never expected the things that were to take place in the next few days. I spoke to her by phone that night and she sounded as if she was lonely and distraught with my leaving. My work assignment ended two days early and I had thought I would surprise her with my return. I drove back to my home and during the drive I made several attempts to call her. I wasn't going to tell her that I was on my way home.

I got home and it was around 3 p.m. her vehicle was there so I knew she was inside. Being as quite as I possibly could, I got out of my vehicle and walked up to our house. I could hear soft music playing as I approached the door. I found the door to be locked and I was afraid she would her me unlocking the door so I walked around the house to see if I could catch a glimpse of her in order to see if I could sneak into ...
