Friday Morning.

"Now you be sure to call me as soon as you get to Jessica's," Tony's mother said as she hugged him for the third time.

"Ma, I told you I can make it down to the base," he said. "It's not that much further - maybe three hours."

"And I told you that's nonsense," she retorted. "You're like a son to Jessie. She babysat you almost every day for a year and she hasn't seen you in God knows how long. Besides, I want you to sleep in a comfortable bed and have a decent home-cooked meal before you get to Florida. I talked to her again this morning, and she said she's got her guest room all ready for you."

Now matter how hard he tried, he couldn't convince his mother that the Air Force didn't have him sleeping on the ground in a pup tent and eating C-rations from tin cans.
