Miranda came home from school that day PISSED! How dare she get an F on that history test! She studied harder than anyone else at St. Emily's and STILL she failed. Graduation was SO iffy now. She knew something was wrong and she'd definatly talk to Sister Monica in the morning. She slammed the door behind her and tossed her backpack down on the nearby couch. Her blue and green tartan plaid skirt fluttered around her thighs from such a rapid motion. As she turned back noticed her mother's boyfriend, Rick sitting at the kitchen table. He looked upset about something.

"Rick? What's wrong?" She asked. He had been a wonderful role model for as long as she could remember. Her mother's live-in boyfriend was more than that to Miranda.
