Campaign bus

I was spending my freshmen summer break working on a political campaign for Jerry Woolworth who was seeking to unseat the incumbent state senator. Since political science was going to be my major, I figured this was good practical experience. I was to be the assistant to Christine Woo, the political speech writer and advisor. Christine was really sharp and knew everyone in state government and was key in developing the direction of the campaign.

Working with Christine was an awesome experience. She was very sharp and had facts and figures that she could immediately recall on a moments notice to help out Jerry in every situation. I found myself cramming all kinds of information in my head so I could prove to Christine I was up to speed and involved in what was going on in state government and pressing public issues.

Working with Jerry was pretty exciting because not only did he seem like a good politician, but he was very charming and had a knack for putting people at ease. He was quite handsome and well built, married to a gynecologist and had a 18 year old son. Several times when I would take dictation from him, he would always compliment me on the job I was doing, or what a nice sweater I had on, even telling me how pretty I looked that particular day.
