Several weeks later I knew I was carrying Ron's child.

To be precise, it was three weeks later that the home pregnancy test turned blue; and the tears running down my soft cheeks belayed the fact that I was indeed pregnant. While that should have been wondrous news for someone taking hormone injections and fertility pills to achieve that state of grace, the big issue at hand was that this was definitely not my husband's child.

The stark facts of life were that, while Chris was my husband, Ron was unquestionably the biological father of my unborn child. And the sole repository of both of those pieces of information was me, Becca, the woman who seaming had it all, just three short weeks before.
