Tabitha opened the mailbox and the mound of envelopes just made her depression even more tangible. She grabbed for the stack and shuffled through them, taking note of the brightly colored notices that showed through the clear panes on the front of the envelopes.

"Well we know what bright means, don't we?" She muttered to herself as she closed and locked the metal box. Shoving the mail into her purse, she trudged up the three flights of stairs to her apartment. After unlocking the door, she immediately dropped her purse and sunk down on the couch, giving the mail a second glance.

"Light bill, rent, cable, insurance...blah blah blah" she tossed the envelopes on the coffee table and got up.

She opened the door to her bedroom and the coolness of the air conditioner hit her immediately. She may be broke but it was too damn hot to sleep at night without it. She passed by her full length mirror, determined not to look, but did anyway.

Tabitha was average in her mind. Just shy of 5'6'' long curly brownish blonde hair. The only thing she might consider unique about herself was her eyes. She has bluish violet eyes. Sort a one in a million genetic anomaly. She skimmed her hands down her jean clad legs, making note that despite her lean diet, her hips were still to big for her liking.
