It was late Wednesday morning when Vince shared breakfast with Judy at Corky's, a simple restaurant around the corner from her apartment.

"Were you planning to drop by tonight?" Judy asked as Vince cut up his blueberry pancakes.

"I hadn't decided," Latimer answered. "Why? You want to do something?"

"I didn't have anything in mind. I was actually thinking of calling up Patty Layne, but I would forget about that if you wanted to see me."

"You haven't seen her in a while," Vince said, remembering her oldest friend other than himself. "Why don't you two go on and make it a night. If you see me too much, you might get bored."

"After last night, how could I ever get bored with you, Vince?"
