Marcy was the single mother of three. Her husband took off after the third child was born and money got tight. Needless to say things got a lot tighter. She had two jobs and was still struggling to keep up with the rent food and normal bills associated with raising three children by ones self. She would work all the overtime she could and the kids would be watched by friends and neighbors, but things were quickly snowballing out of control.

Christmas was approaching on tear when the kids were all in grade school. She had already received two notices from the landlord and the third was clearly a notice for eviction. She had not even bought anything for the kids for Christmas but was still woefully short of the two months rent she owed. Her landlord, Steve, owned about twenty or thirty homes that he rented out and maintained. Marcy knew he was a very nice man and a fair landlord. She also knew, he paid his mortgages on all the property with the rent his tenants paid him. She knew he could not extend her credit anymore and simply had to collect, or find a new tenant who could pay rent on time.

Marcy felt like such a failure. She had once been a cheerleader and student body president. She was voted most likely to succeed. But, she fell in love and had babies for a man who never loved her.
