Welcome Home

I had been out of town on business for three weeks and finally had a chance to fly home for a long weekend with my wife LuAnne. While I was on this trip she had sold her truck and purchased a new car, something I wasn't really comfortable with her doing in my absence, but, circumstances made it necessary. She had been quite cryptic in our last couple of nightly phone calls telling me little more than she had a surprise for me when I got home.

My flight left about ten minutes late. Other than that it was a pleasant uneventful ride on a plane that was only about half full allowing me to stretch out and relax. As I began to drift off to sleep my mind coursed through the possibilities of my wife's surprise. When the plane began it's descent, the stewardess..forgive me..the flight attendant lightly touched my arm and told me to wake up and prepare for our landing.
