After spending the afternoon catching up on his bills and phone calls it was already evening. He took dinner at the Eldorado, eating by himself, but happy to be alone with his thoughts. Afterwards, he phoned Veronica Chase. It was already eight p.m.

"Still mad at me?" he inquired after she answered the phone.

"I was never angry with you, Vince. I was deeply disappointed when you took things into your own hands against my expressed wishes." Veronica sighed. "But the publicity hasn't been as bad as I expected it to be."
