Fishing Trip

It was a warm summer day and James and I had been out on the river since about six a.m. The bass weren't just jumping in the boat but we were catching them regular enough to keep us out on the water. About eleven o'clock my stomach started growling to let me know what little breakfast I ate was gone. Not long after that I heard James's stomach rumbling from the back of the boat.

"Are you about ready to put it on the band and get in some shade to eat lunch?"

"Sure, seems like the fish have gone off for now anyway."

"There is a creek channel about a few hundred yards up that leads back into a small lake. There is an old camp house on the bank that has some big oak trees out by the lake we can sit under and relax."

"Sounds good to me" he said putting his rod and reel down. I reached down and turned the trolling motor up on high and we were off to the channel. Once I finally found the opening and started navigating up the creek channel I felt James moving around in the back of the boat, ducking limbs as they went past me.

"How in the world did you find this place John?" ...
