PART 1 The Arrival

Sandy was thirty-two, and a happily married woman for ten years. At five feet seven, weighing around 125 pounds, she carried her athletic type build with ease and confidence. Though her shoulder length auburn hair was a striking feature, most of her friends agreed that her biggest asset was her radiant smile. One of the ways she stayed fit was the long hours spent riding her bike, one of her favorite activities.

Her husband, Bill, had started his own business seven years ago and it had really taken off. Two years ago, he had asked his wife to quit her teaching job and stay home to take care of the new house. Sandy was a little reluctant at first, since she enjoyed teaching, and the feeling of independence that came with it. Bill had assured her that she wouldn't lose any independence, that she could help him enormously by taking care of things at home and helping him entertain his clients. Sandy weighed the pros and cons, finally deciding to take a year off and try it... and suddenly finding herself with more free time than she'd had since high school.
