Opening the door to reveal the darkened interior of the house, Danielle felt more than a little irritation. Obviously Joshua was going to be working late again this evening. It seemed like months since they'd spent any time together and she was more than a little frustrated by his lack of attention lately. Stepping into the entryway, Danielle flicked on the lights as she moved through the house and stopped in the kitchen for a glass of wine. Moving toward the staircase, the clicking of her heels on the hardwood floors seemed to echo her loneliness and a deep sigh rose in her chest as she slowly climbed the stairs to their bedroom. As she swung the door open, an object lying on the bed drew her attention. A smile played across her lips as she stepped closer, a flutter of excitement racing through her as she leaned forward to pick it up. When they were first married and new to playing games they'd each picked items to indicate their desire to role-play and the item in her hands now had been Joshua's choice - a black knight. Danielle's grin widened as she saw the envelope lying beneath the figurine. Opening it with slightly trembling fingers, she bit her lip nervously as she read the note within.

"Good evening, my love. You are invited to a treasure hunt of the most unusual kind. If you wish to participate please present yourself, appropriately dressed, at 8 am tomorrow morning."
