Breakfast in bed........

She woke to the smell of sausage frying. She could also smell coffee, pancakes and maple syrup. She smiled because she knew that he had come over early and let himself in the apartment. He was always doing things to surprise and spoil her. This morning he was obviously making her breakfast. She laid there a few moments to wake up. As she righted herself to get out of bed, he knocked lightly on the door and came into the room. He carried with him a glass of juice, a vase with a rose, and oddly a piece of red silk.

She sat on the edge of the bed, without saying a word he placed his hands on her shoulders with enough pressure to keep her from getting up. He smiled that smile of his, yet it was a little different, a bit devilish. She decided she would play along. She drank her juice as he left the room.

She heard him put their favorite artist on the stereo. You know the kind that tells a story through out the album. Where the music is not too loud but has good guitar and vocals. She finished her juice just as he returned to the room carrying a tray. He sat the tray on the night table and she noticed it had silverware, napkins, a plate, coffee, and maple syrup. Oddly no food.

He put a couple of pillows behind her, then sat beside her on the bed. ...
