Landing

Kate was sitting in Heathrow airport waiting for the flight to Nice when her cell-phone rang. James explained that he was going to be delayed in Paris and would have to take the later flight. He told her that he had got the local office to arrange a car to pick her up and take her to the hotel since he wouldn't be there with the rental car, and she should look for the driver with her name. Her flight was called almost immediately and so she had to go. She was a bit annoyed, yet another airport meeting that would not quite connect. Still, at least he had got a message to her rather than just not being there.

Everything went well at the airport, the driver took her rucksack and soon she was at the hotel, discovering that James had phoned ahead and that her room key was waiting for her. She went up to the room and lay on the bed. After about 10 minutes the phone rang and a man's voice said that James had arranged for her to have a massage while she was waiting around for him. "Remember Calistoga," he said that he was meant to tell her. She thought back to the massage that she had had in California.

She could have the massage down in the spa/gym area in the basement, or in her own room. She elected for her own room and arranged for the masseur to come in about half an hour to give her time for a shower. She was feeling happier about the trip already, after his annoying ...
