This didn't start out as a revenge story. That would come later. As far as I knew at the time, it was nothing more than a little sexual harassment. Oh, I was so dumb.

My wife Barbara had gone to the annual meeting of our homeowners association. Thanks to two full-time incomes and a small trust set up by my grandfather, we lived in a home we couldn't afford, in a neighborhood we couldn't afford, with a homeowners association we couldn't afford.

Barbara was the one who went to association meetings, volunteered for committees, that kind of thing. This particular time she came back from the homeowners meeting muttering under her breath.
