After one Christmas I had decided to get myself fit. My long term relationship (final 2 years at Uni then a move to Edinburgh) had ended in November and, although I was still in reasonable shape, I decided that getting fit and improving my body shape was my main goal for that year.

Thy gym was close to where I worked near the centre of town and this made either visiting before or after work easy. There was a real cross section of people who trained there.
