Long Term Memory (of you)

Doug Morgan nestled down into his window seat and let his eyes drift closed. The rising sun was just spearing the small jet windows with beams of new daylight, too piercing to look at with his tired eyes. He let his mind wander to the meeting in Chicago. His team was waiting, quite impatiently, to hear the news that he brought with him from HQ. Too bad, none of it would be what they wanted to hear. He dreaded another confrontation with his already mutinous group and pushed the unpleasantness from his mind, telling himself he'd "cross that bridge after he'd burned it."

"Sir," a spirited and slightly southern-accented voice nudged Doug from his light snooze. "Would you care for a soft drink, or coffee?"

Doug opened one eye and looked across at the leggy, flight attendant. Her hair hung in long brown coils and draped over her shoulders. Her uniform blouse was sagging away from her chest and Doug was afforded a clear view of her ample breasts wrapped up in what looked like a fairly industrial-strength brassiere. The exposed flesh jiggled slightly as the plane bounced on turbulence and Doug stared, dumbly.

"Sir?"

"Oh, sorry," he stuttered. "Uhm, no. Nothing. Thanks." ...
