Tim and Sherry pulled over into the gas station. The thick snow blanketed their windshield as Tim shut off the car and ran to the payphone. He dialed the number into the phone only to receive a busy signal. "Damn," he said to himself, "doesn't that girl ever get off the phone?" He put the quarter back into the payphone but dialed the number of a friend of his from the local police department, Sgt Jayson Wayne. After three rings, the phone was answered.

"Sargeant Wayne here," said the voice.
