Whenever anyone spoke of her in school it was always started with a comment on her size. I was always civil to her and she usually had a nice smile for me whenever we happened to meet. After graduation and while I was away in college, then the war, I had no reason to think of her. The girls who appeared closer to what is thought of as normal had my attention.

As he disappeared from my sight, I turned only to collide with Sophia standing in my doorway. "Ooh! G Good morning, sir. You stepped on my sore toe!"
