Being Neighborly

A few weeks went by, and I let Rick know about the upcoming CPR training class at the local YMCA, and he gave me the money to sign all three of us up. He was determined to pay for all three of us, cause Sandy would be traveling so far, and because he wanted to try and repay me, for saving his life. He informed Sandy of the dates, and Sandy made plans to be there for the entire week.

I went over to the neighbors a few times each week, during the next few weeks, and spent a lot of time getting to know them, and drooling over Rick's plump basket being showcased in his variety of colored speedos. I do have to admit, I liked the white ones the best, and the light blue ones came in a close second.

I was doing the yard work after work a couple of nights before Sandy was due to arrive, and Rick waved me down, and told me there was a problem. I tried my best not to look too disappointed as he told me that Becky's father had to undergo some intestinal surgery. I know my face lit up, when he told me she was going to go stay with her father for a couple of weeks, and help him through the ordeal, cause he lived alone, and she didn't want him to be over-doing it. I told him I was sorry to hear about the predicament his father-in-law was in, and I hoped he was going to be ok.
