I sat by my window for the third straight day in a row, hoping to get even a glimpse of my new neighbor. I didn't even know his name and here I was drooling after him like some star struck teenager. How dumb could I be? But I couldn't pull myself away from the window when I knew he would be coming home from work any minute now. Ten minutes went by and then I heard his truck pull into the alleyway out front, I knew he would be coming around the corner any minute now.

He walked by my door right on time as he did every day. I never thought he paid any attention to me sitting in the window but as he passed my window he waved at me and smiled. I smiled and blushed red all the way to my roots. He had seen me sitting there! I just hope he didn't think I was waiting for him or anything. Why would he think that, I could have just as easily been watching the sky or waiting for the sun to set. But in my heart I knew that he knew why I was sitting there and I had just made a complete fool out of myself. I shut the curtains and when the next day came and went and I wasn't at the window I was sure my neighbor probably hadn't even noticed I wasn't there.

I was wrong, he had noticed.
